Hi, I'm Tom, a native New Yorker originally from Queens and now living in the historic and formerly bohemian Greenwich Village.

I established Tom's New York to bring fascinating and fun tours to the city, covering topics such as authentic food, music, history, film and true crime.

I've been a tour guide in Little Italy and Chinatown for close to 5 years and I have plenty of of 5-star reviews but for a lot longer, I've been showing people around - friends and visitors - just for fun. I want your experience to be like theirs.

My grandparents from Italy instilled in us an appreciation for excellent and fresh food made with pride. My Neapolitan grandparents had a small farm in New Jersey and my Sicilian grandfather had a pastry  shop in Brooklyn started over 100 years ago - it was a classic immigrant shop where the family lived in the rooms above.

Press and Links of Interest

Before creating Tom's New York, I shot Queens politics as a photojournalist in the eighties, spent years in institutional equity sales on Wall Street, and photographed wildlife in India and southern Africa. I build miniatures — Graydon Carter owns two of them — and play several instruments including piano, guitar, and of course, the melodica. In my (scarce) free time, I volunteer at the Downtown Boathouse, NYC's free kayaking program on the Hudson.
